The Astra Studio Dance Company is our competitive performance program for dancers who are passionate about training, performing, and working together as a team.
Company dancers represent Astra Studio at regional and national dance competitions while continuing to build strong technical foundations across multiple dance styles.
Through rehearsals, performances, and competitions, dancers develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and artistry both on and off the stage.
Company opportunities are available at multiple ages and levels, with placement determined through auditions, teacher recommendations, or faculty placement depending on the program.

Astra Dance Company Teams
Astra Studio Dance Company includes several performance opportunities designed for dancers at different ages, levels, and areas of interest. Dancers may participate in one or more Company groups based on placement, training, and readiness.
Core Companies
Our Core Companies provide focused training and performance opportunities in Jazz and Lyrical, with Musical Theatre opportunities available for select Company groups. Dancers are placed in age- and level-appropriate groups and compete at regional and national competitions throughout the season.
Specialty Companies
Additional Company opportunities include Tap, Hip Hop, and Acro. These groups allow dancers to expand their training, explore additional styles, and perform competitive choreography that highlights the strengths of each group.
Production Company
Production brings dancers from across our Company program together in one large-scale routine featuring storytelling, theatrical elements, and ensemble performance. Placement in Production is by teacher recommendation and does not require a separate audition.
Training, Performances & Commitment
Company dancers combine their regular dance training with dedicated Company rehearsals throughout the season. Depending on placement, dancers may participate in weekly Company rehearsals, required technique classes, and additional choreography or preparation sessions.

Being part of Company requires an additional commitment of time, training, and teamwork.
Families receive clear information about attendance expectations, rehearsal schedules, tuition and Company fees, costumes, competitions, and other season expenses so they can understand the commitment before accepting a placement.
How Company Placement Works
Placement in Astra Studio Dance Company is designed to match each dancer with opportunities that are appropriate for their age, training, strengths, and readiness.
Some Company groups require an audition, while others are offered through teacher recommendation or faculty placement. Our faculty considers technique, performance quality, focus, work ethic, teamwork, and overall readiness when making placement decisions.
