FAQs

How much does it cost?

  • Tuition is based on an annual rate, charged monthly. For the 2021/2022 season, one class up to 60 minutes in length, the tuition is $60 per month. As classes are added, the tuition rate per class decreases.

  • There is an annual registration fee of $30 per student (maximum $45 per family).

  • Costumes for the Spring Recital Showcase are additional. For the Holiday Virtual Showcase, Astra Studio lends costume pieces to performers.

What do I have to wear?

  • Ballet Technique, Pointe, Pre-Pointe and Ballet 2 require a black leotard and pink tights. Hair must be secured in a neat bun.

  • For Hip Hop and Acting classes, please wear comfortable clothing that you are able to move in. Examples might be sweatpants, t-shirts, leggings, or any dancewear.
  • All other dance classes, you may wear any suitable dancewear:  leotards, tights, leggings, dance shorts, sports bras.
  • Hair should be secured neatly off the face in a bun or a pony tail for all classes (except Ballet classes listed above where it must be in a bun).
  • Jeans, tops with inappropriate logos, etc. are not acceptable for dance classes.
  • Shoes for all dance classes can be found in the shoe document in your parent portal.

Where do I find dance shoes?

  • We recommend you try on dance shoes before purchasing. There are several Connecticut dance stores:

Can I sit and watch my dancer in class?

  • Unfortunately no. Dancers and performers become distracted by visitors during their training. In addition to the holiday and spring performances, we offer a livestream viewing option for parents of our youngest dancers.
